1970-72: Iowa City Iowa - Artist in Residence at the Rockefeller Center for New Performing Arts at the U. of Iowa, co-founded the Iowa Theater Lab and performed in pieces by Robert Wilson, and John O'Keefe.

1971-72: Quebec - Founded High Forest Touring Company in Sawyerville, PQ.

1973- 87: CA - Performed, wrote, directed and produced new theater works with Berkeley's  Blake Street Hawkeyes; Hogstale, Kakos, Nautilus, Triggers & Bite of the Rose, Wrote & performed solo works; Chismo, Life is Not a Country-Western Song, Out Comes Butch & The Key of D.  Toured and wrote with and for  Whoopi Goldberg, - The Spook Show which became Whoopi Goldberg on Broadway. Wrote, composed with Candace Natvig & produced at Theater Artaud in San Francisco: Tokens a Play on the Plague - an environmental opera for 60 performers. Wrote, directed, composed (with Joshua Brody) & produced at Hawkeye Studio, Reverence for the Dead , a musical about the return of Lee Harvey Ozball.

1979-86: International ­ With Bårbel Kemmeler and Pit Hartmann, formed improvisational theater company, The Der Die Das based in Münster (DE)  toured Holland, Germany and Switzerland. Commissioned by Maison de Culture in Rennes (FR), directed and created with clowns Georgot Peugot and Jack Millet  Due Time which later toured throughout Germany. Commissioned by MOMA (LA) created and recorded with Guillermo Gomez Peña in Tijuana: Border-X-Frontera a radio piece for NPR.

1986-91:USA/Europe  - Performed solos (Out Comes Butch)  in USA and Europe, and in NYC a  new solo work (Stones)  and an original play (Pagans) at Funambules, Club Nada and the Home for Contemporary Arts (NYC).  With Kent Alexander and Dana Block performed as The Nubian Hasids at Dixon Place (NYC).  Served on the faculty of the Governor's Institute of the Arts (VT). Developed the play The Return of the Jewish Woman with German actors Kemmler and Hartmann in New York and directed it at Pumpenhaus Theater in Munster (DE) and for its German tour in 1992.

1991-2003:  Chicago ­ Became Artistic Director and then Executive Director of Free Street Theater (now known as Free Street Programs). Created  Arts in Education and Community Outreach programs including TeenStreet Theater, Parenteen Theater , Clown Doctors and the Arts Literacy Program  which provides theater and creative writing programs to children in Chicago Public Schools. Performed and created new works: My Murder and Other Local News, The Black Panty Suite, and The Infarcation. 

2001-2010: Ethiopia -  Established Awassa AIDS Education Circus  (now One Love AIDS /HIV Awareness Theater) with a troupe of street kids in Awassa Ethiopia. Co-founded the Awassa Children's Center an orphanage and vocational trainiing center in Awassa and, with Chicago artists, the Awassa Children's Project, a non-profit corporation in Illinois whose mission is provide support for One Love and the Children's Center. Returned to Ethiopia six times to create new work and tour with One Love.

2003-2009: Jamestown NY - Became Executive Director of two arts non-profits in western NY - The Arts Council for Chautauqua Co., and the Reg Lenna Civic Center (a 1,250 seat theater). Established a wide variety of Public Art and Arts in Education Programs including WRFA-LP: Radio for the Arts the only radio station in the USA operated by a local Arts Council. Produced performances by many noted performers.

2010: Became Director of Willowell Foundation in Monkton, VT - whose mission is to integrate the Arts, Agriculture Education and Ecology.
